Now retired from active competitive sports, Scotch (OTCH Godiva's
Butterscotch Lion UDX8 AX AXJ RN) and his proud handler, George Beck.
Scotch's impressive career includes the equivalent of 6
Obedience Trial Championships (over 600 OTCH points and all the 1st's needed),
80 UDX legs (qualifying in both classes on the same day 80 times), and 2
invitations to the prestigious AKC National Obedience Invitational. At the 2006
NOI in Tampa, FL, they placed 16th out of 135 teams. Scotch was already retired
at the time of the 2007 NOI.
Scotch ended his career with some incredible hot streaks. Starting at
the April 2005 shows in Perry, GA, George and Scotch earned UDX legs on 14 out of
the next 18 days, with scores averaging over 197 (out
of a possible 200). They also achieved 4 High Combined and 6 High In Trial
awards, along with 140 OTCH points. On 3 weekends in a row (TN, IN and SC) they
won High In Trial 4 out of 5 days. During that same period, they had 5
occasions where they went 'double blue, double high' (winning both advanced
classes and both High awards).
Their previous hot streak was in the summer of 2004, when they had four great weekends in a row --
Knoxville, Murfreesboro, Cincinnati and Perry. During that time they won 6 highs (4 High in
Trial's, 2 High Combined's), 5 firsts, and 102 OTCH points. In Perry, their Open
win was in a class of 40 dogs.
Scotch's agility career is also
stellar,
with his having attained both Excellent titles within six months after he started training.
When Rally became an AKC sport, Ace Russell showed Scotch to his RN title in 3
straight runs.
