Ollie's a champion!

Ollie's very first agility titles!

Ollie won a 3-pt major and went BOW too at Greenville, SC, under judge Betty Abbott, on July 31, 1999. He was our very first show-quality Pem, and he's our first Pem to finish!

Ollie ran clean and fast for a pair of first place finishes in Montgomery, AL, on Sarah Scott's courses, December 10, 2000. Less than 2 years later, he earned the MACH at the 2002 AKC Agility Nationals!

Ollie, a red-headed tri, was born 11/9/95. He's CERF'd and OFA "Good". His parents are Ch. Larchmonts Creme Brulee and Dresden Covergirl.

In 1999, Ollie, at the age of 4, was one of several Corgis with whom Ace Russell started agility training. After a few months, he distinguished himself by being the most 'honest' of the bunch, working hard at his new fun job. After a couple of years of trialing, he was starting to achieve double-Qs (qualifying in both events on the same day) fairly regularly. Then in November 2002, Ace and Ollie experienced a Hollywood-type script at the Agility Nationals in Katy, TX. On that occasion Ollie became the first male (third overall) breed champion Pembroke Welsh Corgi to earn the Master Agility Champion (MACH) title! It was an unforgettable experience -- it was his first shot at QQ #20, and Ollie had 3 out of 3 clean runs, ending up 24th in a field of 128 highly competitive 12" dogs (the height class with the largest number of entries). Ollie also qualified for the nationals in 2003 and 2004, but was unable to make the trip.

Two years after that Ace and Ollie finished the double-Q requirements for the MACH2 title at Alpharetta, GA, on October 30, 2004. Then Ollie tore a cruciate ligament in December, 2004 (not doing agility, just playing with Zoldie in a muddy field) and had TPLO surgery. He had to miss competing for the following year, due to multiple surgeries and a lengthy rehab. On January 7, 2006, he ran for the first time in over a year and got double-Q #42. After the other knee was blown (similar accident on a muddy day) he retired only 66 points from MACH2!

Ollie finished meeting all the requirements for the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America (PWCCA) prestigious title Versatile Corgi (VC), when he earned the Companion Dog (CD) obedience title in Perry, GA, on April 11, 2003. Now in retirement, he enjoys tracking and is thinking about herding.

Here's Ollie proudly winning a Group 3 on November 1, 1998 in Knoxville, TN, under Peggy Mickelson.

Below, just about an hour earlier, he's smiling for the Breed picture (a 3-point major). Hilary Burns, his (and Bubble's) breeder, showed him beautifully.
